WORKTOPS IN SPACE! - Otherwise known as our Warehouse refit.

Rip it out and start again!

Like so many companies we’ve been muttering "If only we had more space" for a while now, so we invited Worktop racking experts Stakapal to come up with a solution.

When the answer came back that we could increase our storage capacity by up to 50% we just had to go for it, but it would mean starting from scratch and the prospect of a lot of hard work.

The solution is known as narrow aisle, and features single and double sided cantilever racking in rows that are really quite close together. A specially designed fork lift truck just fits between the racks and is guided along a rail either side by large Nylon rollers. Each arm holds a different colour and size of worktop, and these are stacked from floor to ceiling.

Delivering our promises and our Worktops

Ok, so there’s little point in holding so much stock that you can actually get at unless you can deliver it. Our existing vans have been full to legal limit every day for as long as we can recall so we just had to get a big ‘un.

Our new Iveco van has been fitted out with Load-Lok bars and can carry four and a half tonnes. It can hold worktops up to 4.5m long but is still small enough to manoeuvre into awkward sites with restricted access when necessary.
